Position Summary: The Hydraulics & Pneumatics Purchasing Manager (Fluid Conveyance) manages the purchase of Production parts and materials within an assigned section or group of commodities and suppliers. Implement strategies, policies, procedures, and systems, which lead to the selection of the fewest, highest quality, continually improving suppliers at competitive costs, highest technology, and timely delivery performance as well as reduced warranty exposure. Evaluates market conditions in order to maintain inventory levels and control costs. Defines Commodity and Company strategies for Fluid Conveyance components and systems. Evaluates and recommends vendors. Manages ongoing relationships with suppliers. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. What Makes this a Great Opportunity: o Work for one of the world's largest capital goods companies o Opportunities for growth Essential Responsibilities: o Lead a team responsible for strategic sourcing and LTA negotiations for >$100M of annual spend and managing overall supplier performance to drive cost reduction initiatives.  o Drive cost reduction initiatives with global supply base by engaging in competitive negotiations, while meeting capacity and quality requirements. o Provide leadership in and develop an insight into the market for the commodities assigned; including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead-times, technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers and suppliers in the market that best meet expectations and objectives. o Generates and controls annual budget for Fluid Conveyance to achieve financial targets through tracking performance against projections and mitigating budget variances due to economics, raw materials, volumes, etc... o Partners with After Marker Purchasing to centrally manage common suppliers and develop strategy to achieve optimal service and cost levels to protect profit margins and ensure dealer supply. o Identify and implement tools and communication methods to train and improve cross-functional engagement and productivity across all of NAFTA locations and collaborate for global alignment. Travel Responsibilities: o No travelrequired   Basic Qualifications: o Minimum 10 years of Purchasingexperience Desired Experience and Traits: o Outstanding negotiations skills - getting to win/win agreements o Master's Degree preferred  o Demonstrated technical aptitude and business acumen o Excellent written and verbal communication skills o Experience in driving strategies to improve performance on cost, quality, and delivery. o Effectively communicate across all organizational levels, departments, and functions o Proven project management and process improvement skills o Ability to perform scenario analysis and strategy development o Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to perform cost assessments and analysis o Experience developing budgets, maintaining data bases and delivering budget targets on annual basis, including projections, reporting and variance analysis o Cross functional, matrix, and international team experience o Significant experience in a supply activity with several years of commodity purchasing experience including proven track record of success. o Thorough knowledge of corporate purchasing practices and the sourcing process. o An extensive amount of independent thinking is required. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
