Embedded Software Design Engineer-Driveline. CNH Industrial America LLC, 6900 Veterans Boulevard, Burr Ridge, IL 60527.
Develops control software specifications for functional subgroups of construction equipment, including hydraulic control systems, for the companys proprietary line of construction equipment such as Dozers, Wheel Loaders, and others. Responsible for analysis, detailed software design, development and testing of the software. Analyzes and develops the control concept, designs the software for the vehicle systems, and identifies the control requirements. Implements the control software both in terms of architecture and control functions. Defines the unit test and implementation requirements. Validates the control software system for release to production. Integrates different modules and ensures that the whole system works properly. Develops software in Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and C for microcontroller based instrument cluster module. Uses Vector CANalyzer and Electronic Service Tool for software validation. Provides support for the implementation of the ECU software by means of model based and automatic code generation. Collaborates with other company engineers from company operations on a domestic and international level. Travel may be required up to 10% of time both domestically and internationally.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Software, Systems or Controls Engineer-Engine Control Systems. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, and three (3) years of experience as a Software, Systems or Controls Engineer-Engine Control Systems. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience or a Master's degree and three years of experience. As part of the experience being required, applicants must have had: experience in requirement gathering, analysis, detailed design, and software development of embedded systems control software for commercial engine control systems; experience in analyzing and developing control concepts and in designing software specifications for commercial engine control systems; experience developing real-time control applications; experience in creating test procedures and in conducting bench tests of commercial vehicular control systems; experience creating test scripts for automated test sequences using National Instruments' TestStand; experience in creating simulations in Mathworks Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow models to implement and verify the functionality of control software for vehicular control systems; experience in auto-code generation from Matlab models using ADI's Beacon For Simulink (B4S) or Mathwork's RTWEC; experience in verifying and validating (V&V) engine control software system for release to production; experience in coding embedded control software using embedded C language for engine control systems; experience with microcontrollers and debuggers; experience with automotive electronic systems and protocols (CAN and J1939); experience with CAN development tools (Vector CANalyzer and Peak PCAN-Explorer) or equivalent; experience with creating DFMEAs; and experience with formal software development processes (V-model lifecycle), including usage of configuration management and defect tracking tools (such as ClearCase and ClearQuest).
