Our company, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and strategic Senior Category Manager to lead our packaging category.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a three-year strategic sourcing plan for North America, managing category budgets, and overseeing the source-to-pay process.
You will play a pivotal role in driving growth and efficiency within our organization, utilizing your knowledge of packaging and supply chain management.
This position requires 25% travel.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Senior Category Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1.
Developing and implementing a three-year strategic sourcing plan for North America, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and objectives.
2.
Managing category budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting on expenditures, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
3.
Overseeing the source-to-pay process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring.
4.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and ensure the packaging category strategy meets these needs.
5.
Staying abreast of industry trends and market conditions, and leveraging this knowledge to inform category strategy and sourcing decisions.
6.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, and promoting sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
7.
Utilizing SAP and other tools to analyze data, generate insights, and drive decision-making.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Senior Category Manager role, you will need:
1.
A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, packaging, or a related field.
2.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
3.
Strong knowledge of category strategy, strategic sourcing, and the source-to-pay process.
4.
Experience with SAP or a similar system.
5.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
6.
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
7.
The ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
8.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
9.
A proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented approach.
